WELCOME to Speer Ammo

Speer Ammo
  • We have used more Speer bullets than any other and have never been anything but happy with their performance and price.  We started using their 30 caliber bullets in the 1960s and used them by the thousands.  We have never seen a bad bullet fro Speer.

Vernon Speer started making component bullets in 1943 because reloaders couldn't get the components they needed from the "big" ammo companies. Vernon's focus was always on the hunting rifle bullet, but he also built the first mass-produced jacketed handgun bullets for hunting and law enforcement and, in the 1960's, put those bullets into loaded ammo in the now-famous Lawman® line. Vernon understood shooters' needs, and reacted with quality products. Over a half-century later, we still run the business that way. The original product lines have been expanded and new ones added. Hot-Cor™, Gold Dot®, Grand Slam®, TNT® — products all designed by shooters to delight other shooters with their performance and value.

"Speer®, complete with a fresh new look, continues to offer the best options for law enforcement, personal protection, handgun hunting and training ammunition. Based on the performance and track record of the legendary Speer Gold Dot® Ammunition, which continues its dominance of the law enforcement community, Speer has proven its reliability for tough jobs. This reputation has made it the #1 duty ammunition on the market today. To put it simply—it’s the best.

Just last year we re-introduced this fine ammunition in three user-friendly categories: Speer Gold Dot Personal Protection, Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Personal Protection and Speer Gold Dot Handgun Hunting. Speer also continues its line of training ammunition with Lawman® and Lawman Clean-Fire® ammunition. For Gold Dot-like ballistics and serious training, Lawman remains the best choice. Whatever category fits you, we’ve got the best choice for your needs.
